Autumn, a fairy Godmother:
by admin on Oct.01, 2009, under Available Now, Fairy Godmothers
I have a lovely voluptuous winged Goddess on Ebay right now.
I made one like her a week ago, and got such an overwhelming response, that I recreated her.
The wonderful thing about this, is that each piece is unique! Especially when working with that nifty glass called “Raku”. It changes colour depending on how you treat it while in the flame!
Here she is, “Autumn”.
Wind in my sails!

Okay, so after the big Bead Oasis show, I kind of lost my ‘oomph’. I also got that awful coughing virus, and it put me out of commission for a while.
However, I just bought some new special glass, and have some pretties to show you! Double Helix’s Aurae, and Triton. They both reduce to a really nifty sheen, as you’ll see! I’ve been making big holed beads in preparation for trying out the new Nortel Bead liner, so that’s why some of these have 1/4 inch holes.
Triton goes a mirrored silver when reduced (it does other things too, but so far, I can do the first!), if you look closely, you can see me with the camera!

Aurae is like a Fairy glass! It reduces to a delicate golden sheen, like liquid sunlight!

This one below is an elegant beauty that has Triton in it in reduced and unreduced form. There are a few mirror shiny spots, but unreduced, it’s the ethereal blue that you see. It also includes silvered ivory. I really enjoy how it turned out!

Lil Lady Marathon!

Tonight I begin my Lil Lady Marathon.

Saturday I will be at a Curvacious.ca event, and people will be expecting the Ladies.
They’re so cute!
I’ll have other things available as well, just to have variety.
Ladies Ladies Ladies!

I am getting ready for Christmas right now! For me, this means, torching whenever I can, and putting together as many pendants and jewelry as I can stand. Usually, when I need to do a load of laundry, I stay in and make up pendants. Why? Because the house is wired so that if the washing machine AND the kiln are on, I short the whole basement out! heheh.
This year is neat, because my “Fairy Godmothers” or “lil ladies” are getting in the spotlight…Would you like to see how I make them? Let me see if I can successfully embed my one and only Youtube video tutorial I’ve ever made. It’s very dark, forgive me, but when I make more, I’ll be better.
I call them ‘Fairy Godmothers’ sometimes.. they have wings, and they remind me of the lil chubby Fairy Godmothers in Sleeping Beauty. You’ll also hear them called ‘goddesses’, because they’re reminiscent of the ancient fertility goddesses.
